7 summer beauty bits i’m coveting this july.

I would never ever call myself a beauty blogger because I’m not, I’m far from one. I just like make-up and I share what I like on The Monday Project. Make-up can be a little bit tricky in the summer because it can quite literally just melt of your face. When I was in the USA for a very brief period of time I didn’t take much make-up with me as I knew it would be hot and I was very satisfied with the choices I did make as I think they complimented my skin in the sunshine perfectly.

When I got back to the UK, it was experiencing it’s own mini heatwave. Whilst the heatwave seems to have passed on, we can all live in hope it will return and prepare ourselves suitably. A lot of this make-up isn’t new as I don’t really spend a lot of money on make-up, I’m not one for new releases if I can’t afford them. And since coming back from the US, I’ve been skint.

All of these products work very well together and none of them are very expensive. I usually pick my beauty products up from Boots or Superdrug so they are all easy to find. If you are looking for some no-nonsense summer make-up picks, these are for you.

rimmel london radiance bb cream.

I found this gem in my make-up box when moving out from uni and it was practically new. It had been opened but was almost unused. I did consider passing it on to someone else as I remember the shade not matching my skin tone but when applying it, we have a match! It contains SPF 20 which is always a bonus and I apply it with a beauty blender-type sponge and … It is a really smooth formula which applies really easily and lasts almost all day. It does struggle a little bit in the heat but I didn’t find it melting off too much during the hot summer nights in the USA so I think it’ll do just fine in the UK.

collection bronze glow matte.

I’m not really a bronzer person but after watching loads of YouTube make-up tutorials featuring a bronzer, I thought it was time I got involved with one. I didn’t want to spend much money as I wasn’t sure how much I’d be using it so I went for this Collection one. It is easy to apply and lasts for quite a long time but as with the price-tag, I’m sure there are better ones out there but it does the job sufficiently.

soap + glory glow it all out highlight + sculpt cheek stick.

It has been love at first sight for me and this highlighter since we met at Christmas. I got it as part of a Soap & Glory Christmas gift set and immediately stopped using the highlighting stick I was using from Barry M. Other highlights have been and gone since but Soap & Glory always come out on top. It is so easy to use, you simply just draw a perfect highlighted line. It looks so shimmery and pretty and I don’t know why you would want to use anything else. I have the shade Ice Shimmer.

witch naturally clear concealer.

I’m having a right pickle with spots at the moment and I’m not really sure what to do about it. If anyone has any skincare tips for pesky spots around the chin area, do let me know! This concealer contains some of Witch’s spot tackling ingredients so it seemed a little kinder to my skin to use this. It is easy to use thanks to the stick style and the colour match is good with my skin. I usually blend it in with a blending brush from Primark.

gosh brow sculpting fibre gel.

My eyebrows are not the best but one tool I’ve found to be very good at dealing with them is this gel from GOSH. I’m not that familiar with GOSH products but I’ve heard good things from many bloggers about them. I have the shade Nutmeg which is a good match for my brows and it really helps to hold my brows in place.

barry m feature length mascara.

This is a very understated mascara, it isn’t one which makes your eyelashes look super showy but I think it just helps to define your eyes. I like the brush as it isn’t massive so it doesn’t smear big black marks down your face if you are a ninny at applying make-up like me.

indy luxe brushes.

I’ve been using the same make-up brushes for years, I just never seem to buy any new ones despite how gross that is. Indy Luxe brushes have been popping up all over my Instagram feeds and they look so blinkin’ divine. They are firstly very very pretty and after putting in an order in for my own, I was super impressed with the quality as well. They are beautiful brushes that do a fantastic job at applying make-up and they are vegan/cruelty free as well! You can 20% off Indy Luxe if you fancy picking up a set of your own (I promise you won’t regret it) if you use this code MONDAYPROJECT20.
