How I Use My Bullet Journal {01}

Well I’m about four months late to this little shin-dig. I read a tonne of blogs and way back in like March, loads of my fave bloggers were like “bullet journals are too die for” and I was like “that sounds a cool awesome thing I’d love to do” but lol I forgot about it and never got round to *actually* starting one didn’t I?

Bullet journals are me. I love a list, I love a planner, I love having goals, I love writing down my fave TV shows and my to-read list, my current wishlist etc. Bullet journals combine all this loveliness in one little journal which you can flash out and show off to all your friends.

Or don’t do that cos you might look kinda weird.

Magic Garden Philadelphia

One of the most beautiful places I’ve visited in recent years was Magic Garden Philadelphia. I like a wee jaunt around a museum (the National Museum of Scotland is bae) but art galleries and exhibitions? Not really my thing. I mean I think they are cool but I just don’t ever seem to find myself in their company. But when Rebekah suggested we go to the Magic Garden Philadelphia during Ali and I’s stay there, I wasn’t going to argue. Honestly I had no clue what this thing was we were going to see but after a traumatic subway journey and a little walk in the stifling heat, we were through the door. PLUS it’s only $8 with student ID (British ones too!) so I was intrigued to see what it was all about.

This outdoor mosaic by Isaiah Zeger is one of the most beautiful things I’ve seen recently. It probably isn’t everyone’s cup of tea but for me, it sealed the deal. So here is a photo diary of my visit to Magic Garden Philadelphia and every time I look at these photos, it inspires me to search for pretty things closer to home.

Two Weeks In Bahamian Paradise

I feel all faint now it’s all over. My two weeks in Bahamian paradise is finished. Sob sob sob. The sun was lovely, the sea was lovely and the food was amazing. I’ve thumped back down to earth in Scotland and I’m no longer sitting on a Bahamian lined cloud. But here is all the deets on what I got up to whilst I was there, mostly I was getting sunburnt and complaining about being fat. Maybe I should leave off the fries for a little while … hmm maybe not.

So the BAHAMAS. Up until last year I’d never really given much thought to this cluster of islands in the Caribbean but on May 28th, Ali and I boarded a plane from Philly and landed in Nassau, New Providence at about 8 o’clock at night.

Travel Notes | Philadelphia

I really liked Philadelphia. After a long day of travelling I was very relieved to arrive in this beautiful city late at night after being awake for a staggering 25 hours. For someone who requires and adores a lot of sleep, that was pretty hellish.

{please note, this post is an edit of the original version which was posted in june 2016, i’m trying to rewrite old content so it can be actually ~ useful ~  for people exploring philly}

A Little Look At The Last Year

How weird is it doing a reflection of a year post in May? Answer: pretty damn weird. But here we are, a whole nine months (so not quite a year soz) later and I’m finished with my first year of university. There we have it. No longer a freshaaaaa. Okay sorry for that. I’ll be rolling back to Glasgow in September for second year. Uh huh. Second year people. I’m officially 1/4 of my way through university.

I can’t quite believe how quick and crazy the last nine months have been. Undoubtedly, they’ve been some of the best of my life. I’ve met some amazing people, done some really cool things and learnt so much. I think I’ve grown as a person, I’m a lot more confident in my own personality and skills and I’ve learnt to express myself in a way that’s more me. Yes I wear pinafores. Yes I have candles. Yes I really like feta cheese and spring onions. But who cares, this is me? And I’m happy with who I am.
